Farm Profile

We are proud to own and operate Koran Stock Farm. In 1984 we purchased 20 head of purebred Red Angus, which has grown to an impressive herd of breeding females nearing 130 animals. We pride ourselves on the impressive lineage that we have been able to maintain, and the traceability of 91% of our herd to the original 20 head purchased 22 years ago. Our philosophy of “producing cattle that are consistently strong in; functional, maternal, and carcass traits” has not changed since entering the purebred industry, and will continue to provide direction for the further growth of Koran Stock Farm.

Every year on the third Saturday of February, we hold our annual “Top Genes Sale”, where we sell the majority of our bull calves, and several two year olds. We are proud of the fact that over the past 22 years we have sold 95% of our sale animals to other breeders within 150km of Lloydminster . This ability to consistently market and sell to our neighbors and friends tells us that we must be doing something right!

Along with our strong commitment to local domestic sales, we have also focused on the international market. In the past we have successfully exported bred heifers, and heifer calves to producers in Denmark , where one was crowned “best in Denmark ”. Recently we have also exported bred heifers to South Dakota.

During both the summer and fall we enjoy traveling the purebred show circuit to further market the herd which we have developed. We also enjoy the social atmosphere of the show road, which allows us to meet new people and catch up with old friends, so if you see the Koran Stock Farm sign, please feel free to stop by and say hello.
